Pre-Holiday Health Prep: Small Habits, Big Defense

2 min read

The holidays are coming, and so is the cold and flu season. A few simple habits now can help you manage both with steady energy and a well-supported immune system.

To bolster your energy and nourish your immune system:

Prioritize sleep - Late nights for holiday celebrations will happen, so protect your sleep on the other nights. Running on empty is a fast way to get sick during the holidays!

Build meals around protein - Pair lean proteins with colorful, low-carb vegetables and a little healthy fat. Fewer sugar spikes and crashes mean steadier energy, plus sugar inhibits your immune system while immune cells rely on protein to do their work.

Get some sun - Vitamin D plays a key role in how your immune system’s cells respond. Aim for 15-30 minutes of sunlight when you can. Shorter days make that harder, so a quality D3 supplement can fill in the gap (ideally guided by lab testing).

Plan for recovery - The holiday season is a marathon of parties, shopping, and travel. Schedule downtime before and after big events; don’t leave it to chance!

Add the secret ingredient - Even with great habits, the holidays can drain anyone’s reserves. Vitamin injections deliver antioxidants and energy-giving B vitamins without relying on digestion, so your body can use them right away.

Are you prepared? Abundant Health can help you build resilience and feel your best all season long!
